  • Storm Lake Community School District in Storm Lake, IA seeks High School ELL

    Teacher to identify methods and strategies that are effective for second language learners.

    Present model lessons appropriate for all students. Co-plan, co-teach, and co-assess

    emerging bilingual students with classroom teachers. Identify academic skills and

    deficiencies of emerging bilingual students and coordinate English proficiency testing.

    Assist in placing emerging bilingual students in appropriate buildings, grade levels, and

    classes. Develop consistent intake procedures for emerging bilingual students, as well as

    consistent exit procedures for students exiting the ELL program. Assist ELL Instructional

    Assistants in developing staff and student schedules. Coordinate efforts with colleges

    such as Iowa Central Community College and Buena Vista University, and with

    programs such as Even Start, At-Risk, Title I, Migrant Workers, School-to-Work, and

    Alternative High School.

    Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in K-12 English as a Second Language or substantially

    related degree, and teaching license valid in Iowa for teaching K-12 English as a Second

    Language.

SUBSTITUTE POSITIONS:

  Substitute teachers are needed in all buildings. Sub teacher pay is $170/day.
   

• Substitute Instructional Assistants - (Download & Print Application) pay is $13.40/hour
   

• Substitute Bus Drivers - (Download & Print Application)
  Class B CDL license with air brake, passenger-carrying, and school bus endorsements required.  Drug screening and background checks are required.  The district will pay for the physical and training. Approximate hours are 6:30-8:30 am and 3:00-5:00 pm with an hourly wage of $21.06 per hour.
